Pool Company FAQ Aquatic Pools And Spas Frequently Asked Questions

01

Questions
A

How long does it take to build a swimming pool?

From the day of excavation it should take about 6 weeks. Prior to excavation, there are several steps to be made (see below).

  • Financing (if applicable)
  • Homeowner’s association approval
  • Marking and finding utilities
  • Permits from your city or county

Does a swimming pool add value to my home?

Yes, it sure does. Normally it will give you about 75% of the value of the pool. But the more you decorate the backyard with landscaping, the more money you will get back on the pool.

Are some swimming pool shapes less expensive than others?

Yes, a curve shape swimming pool is less expensive than a rectangle. Pools are priced by the perimeter of the swimming pool, which is the tile line around the pool.

Questions
B

Why do cost estimates vary when pools seem to be the same?

The price of a pool is determined by much more than just size and shape. A lot of companies do not include some of the most important factors affecting cost in their proposals. Because there are so many factors that go into building a swimming pool, there are a lot of places to cut corners. Here are some of them;

  • Craftsmanship
  • Quality of materials (smaller pumps, filter, etc.)
  • Design
  • Underground strength
  • Ease of maintenance
  • Warranties

Service Value is not necessarily what you are paying for.

What about warranties? Is my investment well protected?

Warranties are very important. Always compare the warranties of every pool company to whom you talk with. Make sure all warranties are in writing, not verbal. Remember one thing: the warranty is only as good as the company and their reputation. If the pool company is not in business for the duration of your pool warranty, then you haven’t got a warranty.

How do I know what type of pool would work in my backyard?

A sales/design consultant will help you design the perfect pool for your needs. With your input and the knowledge and creativity of our team, we’ll put together a pool and equipment package that meets or exceeds your expectations.

Questions
C

Is my backyard big enough?

Smaller backyards can often accommodate over-sized spas or small pools. We can design a project for practically any backyard.

Can you arrange financing for my swimming pool purchase?

Financing is an easy process when buying a swimming pool. We have several different banks that we use. There are two different types of loans. Home improvement and home equity loans. Most loans are approved in twenty-four to twenty-eight hours. These loans are a second lien on your home, in turn making all interest tax deductible. Most of the loans are for 15 to 20 years. Payments are normally around $10 per $1000 borrowed. (This is based on your credit).
